To meet the Town of Calmar’s long-term administrative and operational needs, a new municipal office and public works facility was designed and constructed to deliver a durable, efficient, and future-ready workplace. The facility provides modernized space for both public service delivery and municipal operations, supporting day-to-day functionality while planning for future growth.
Atkinson Construction (ACL) was awarded the project under a CCDC 14 Design-Build contract, leading both the design and construction phases in close collaboration with the Town. The resulting facility balances energy efficiency, accessibility, and durability, offering a modern civic hub that enhances Calmar’s ability to serve its residents.

Municipal Office & Shop Construction
The building was developed to include dedicated office space, operational shop areas, and flexible workspaces that accommodate evolving municipal needs.

Collaborative Design Process

To mitigate winter conditions, ACL implemented concrete sequencing and insulated curing strategies. Early procurement and proactive shop drawing reviews ensured that construction milestones remained on track.
