Building with Purpose: Partnering with Esquao

Atkinson Construction is proud to partner with Esquao – the Institute for the Advancement of Aboriginal Women on the construction of a multi-unit facility that will offer culturally grounded support for Indigenous women in Alberta. This development is designed to provide a safe, dignified space that reflects Esquao’s values of healing, empowerment, and resilience.

As a long-standing advocate for Indigenous women, Esquao delivers programs in wellness, leadership, employment, and justice. This new facility will enhance their ability to serve participants with responsive, community-driven care.

Supporting Community Beyond the Build

This project also participates in the ECA Scraps for Success Initiative, diverting surplus construction materials into local school shop programs. A secure on-site bin allows crews to digitally log reusable materials, supporting trades education and reducing waste. It's one more way this project gives back—supporting youth and sustainability in our industry.
